The URBCARE conference took place at the seminar building of the new campus of the Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University in Lucknow, India (AKTU New Campus, Sector 11, Jankipuram Extension, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh 226031). Various activities took place throughout the building during the conference. 

Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (APJAKTU), also known as AKTU, was previously known as UTTAR PRADESH TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY. Located in Lucknow, the capital city of Uttar Pradesh State, the university was established in 2000 under the Uttar Pradesh Government to provide a variety of education and training programmes in engineering technology, architecture, town planning, pharmacy, applied arts and crafts and others. In 2019 the university, which is affiliated with approximately 800 colleges, had around 400,000 students enrolled in its various programmes. It is one of the largest universities in Asia in terms of its colleges and the diversity of courses offered. 

The university’s new campus was inaugurated in 2017 by the prime minister and is situated in a developing extension zone on the edge of the bustling city of Lucknow, a peaceful site that provides an optimal location for studying. The campus is spread over 30 acres and houses the Kalam Memorial center with the AKTU digital library.
